Richard Reiss Jr. was elected to the board of directors at Grey Advertising in New York. He is the founder and chairman, and a partner with Frank Biondi, of Georgica Advisors LLC, an investment firm serving communications, media and entertainment clients. Reiss also serves as director of the Lazard Funds Inc.; O’Charley’s and Page One Communications in the U.K.
The Peterson Group, New York, added two executives: Don Kline was appointed creative officer and Joel Barad was named chief operating officer at the agency.
Lee Hunt Associates in New York promoted Andrea Mergentime to executive director, global development from director of marketing.
Mark Russell & Associates, Syracuse, added six staffers: Julie MacConnell was named interactive developer, Ryan Garland was appointed media assistant, Donald Taylor Jr. was hired as a junior art director, Nadine VandeWalker joined the agency as traffic manager, Michael Page arrived as a copywriter and Karen Damon was named assistant media planner.
Tom McCall was named a senior partner at the Syracuse office of Eric Mower and Associates. He has supervised accounts for clients such as Eastman Kodak and the Carrier Corp. At the agency’s Rochester office, public relations director Erin Foster was named president-elect by the city’s chapter of the American Marketing Association.
David Schwartz, president of 21st Century Marketing in Farmingdale, was elected chairman of the Direct Marketing Association’s List Leader group. He will head up List Metrics, a system of measuring the performance of direct mail lists.
Robert Schoenbacher was promoted to president of Metro-Suburbia, New York, a company that sells advertising for newspapers across the United States. Schoenbacher had been vice
president, sales and marketing director at the company.
Marie Galastro was named publisher of Hachette Filipacchi’s Home Plans Group, encompassing Best-Selling Home Plans from Home Magazine, Metropolitan Home Plans and Woman’s Day Favorite Home Plans. She will be based in New York.
The Myers Group, the New York-based parent of Myers Consulting Group and Myers Publishing, named Matt Mazer vice chairman. Mazer most recently served as senior vice president, new technologies at Sony.
Spin promoted Malcolm Campbell to publisher from associate publisher. Jim Campbell was also elevated to advertising director from senior account manager.
The Advocate, New York, promoted Michael Phelps to sales development director from senior advertising manager. Sivan Schlecter also moved up to the newly created position of promotions and marketing director from promotions director.
William McGorry, group vice president at Cahners Business Information, New York, will now direct the publishing group’s Broadcast & Cable in addition to Multichannel News and Wireless Week.
Colgate-Palmolive in New York appointed Bob Kirkpatrick vice president, global media. He previously served as senior vice president, director of media services at the St. Louis office of D’Arcy Masius Benton & Bowles.
Hall Dickler Kent Friedman & Wood, a New York firm specializing in advertising and marketing
law, added John Awerdick as direct marketing partner. He will focus on advertising, intellectual property and trade regulation law.

Luann Padden was promoted to account manager at CAG Design in Hackettstown. She joined the packaging and communications company last year as an account executive.
Creative Marketing Alliance in Princeton Junction promoted three staffers: Christian Amato advanced to assistant controller of the finance department, Kerry Borzilleri was elevated to media planner/buyer and Kristin Lascelle moved up to senior account specialist.
Adient in Wayne promoted seven staffers: Gary Nelson advanced to vice president, account group supervisor; Rita Brett was elevated to vice president, group creative director; Mike Brune moved up to vice president, creative director; Hank Luce was promoted to senior
vice president, creative director; Jennifer Cerulli advanced to account supervisor; Laurie Nelson was elevated to senior copywriter; and Charlotte Spencer moved up to traffic manager.
Linett & Harrison, Millburn, named Leslie Marshall director of new business development.
Margaret Linguri joined Horizon Communications, East Hanover, as an account supervisor. She had been senior product manager at Schering Plough.

Elkman/Alexander & Partners, Philadelphia, promoted Steve DiMeo to associate creative director from senior copywriter. The agency also hired senior art director Rosemary Catone, graphic designer James Eagle and copywriter Lisa O’Donnell.
SAI Marketing, Jenkintown, promoted Nicole Morse to account executive from assistant account executive.
McAdams, Richman & Ong, Bala Cynwyd, named Kevin Kane senior vice president, director of marketing and account management. He had been a senior vice president at Kingswood Advertising/Backe Communications in Ardmore. Jennifer Parks also joined the agency as an assistant account executive from Nationwide Advertising Service in Philadelphia, where she was an account coordinator.
