Arnold Communications, Boston, promoted Holly Archibald from associate producer to producer. Archibald, who joined Arnold in 1998, works on the McDonald’s account. The agency also promoted Mike Lawson from media planner to assistant producer. Lawson will work on The Hartford and Verizon Communications accounts.

Greenberg Seronick O’Leary and Partners, Boston, hired account executive Kate Uhlmann and assistant account executive Kristin Woodcock to work on the Dial Corp. accounts, which include Sarah Michaels Bath and Body products, Freeman Cosmetics, and Nature’s Accents. Uhlmann previously worked at Mellon New England and Regan Communications, both in Boston, while Woodcock worked as associate sales manager at Beacon Press, Boston. The agency also added Michael Fletcher as an account supervisor working on the LoJack account and Robert Yee as an account supervisor for the Spalding account. Fletcher previously worked at J. Walter Thompson in Boston, Memphis, Tenn., and Detroit; Beber Silverstein & Partners, Miami; and Solomon Friedman Associates, Birmingham, Mich. Yee was previously with Heater Advertising, Boston, Wieden + Kennedy, New York, Fallon, New York, and Houston Herstek Favat, Boston.

Bozell Kamstra, Danvers, hired Chris Lauterbach as media director for the New Englan region, former Legal Sea Food director of marketing and public relations Annie Kirsch as public relations account supervisor, David Drew as advertising account coordinator, former Baldwin & Stone office coordinator and copywriter Lisa Hawkins as junior copywriter, and former Arnold Communications accounting manager Yelena Kvitnitsky as accounting manager.

Wallwork & Curry, Boston, promoted Rodrigo Calvo from account services assistant to account coordinator. The agency also hired Jim Badershall as a designer/MIS, Rebecca Beckett as a production artist, and Stephanie Drake as a media coordinator.

Maura Byrne joined Allen & Gerritsen as a copywriter. She will work on accounts such as ArsDigita, American Science & Engineering, Rational and State Street Corp. Byrne most recently served as senior copywriter at Digitas, Boston, where she worked on General Motors, AT&T and American Express. The Watertown agency also hired Joe de la Torre as a marketing associate working on ec cubed and State Street Corp. and former Arnold Communications print production manager Thomas J. Black, Jr., as production manager.

Chen PR, Waltham, promoted Rebecca Ayers, Kerri Connors and Christine Stuart each to account manager.

Miller/Shandwick Technologies hired David Anderson and Linda Seid as senior account executives, Anne Coyle and Arlene Harrington as account executives, Christopher Milot as associate account executive, and Jennifer Genelli as administrative assistant. The Boston agency also promoted John Dunlea to vice president of finance, Lang Allbritton, Bethany Lieberman, Julie Bakey and Jennifer Vrettas each to account supervisor; Ed Daly, Daryl Richard, Brandy Baxter, Michele Spiewak, Ian Stanton, Lauren Gilligan and Simone Valois each to senior account executive; and Chris Merrow, Erika Amundson, Julie Morrison and Liz Erk each to account executive.

The Rasky/Baerlein Group, Boston, hired former PR Consulting president Peggy Rose as senior account executive. Rose has worked with clients such as House of Blues, Swissotel Boston and Stop & Shop.

BBK, Newton, promoted Chris Oleson to publicist. Oleson currently works on several accounts, including a patient recruitment campaign for a national emphysema research study, and communications accounts for the Massachusetts Governor’s Committee on Physical Fitness and Sports, the Boston Public Health Commission, and Alliance for Children. The agency also promoted Rob Laurens to copy supervisor. Laurens has been with the agency for five years, working on clients such as the Massachusetts Department of Public Health and Biolink.

Medical information services company Virtmed, Cambridge, named Kate Maul director of marketing, with responsibility for product marketing, marketing communications and corporate branding for all of Virtmed’s products. Maul previously served as director of product marketing for Synchrony Communications.

Online auction portal Bidder’s Edge, Burlington, hired Brian Oren as vice president of marketing. Oren, who was previously director of marketing for Furniture.com, will be responsible for branding and positioning Bidder’s Edge, as well as meeting marketplace needs and building a marketing organization to grow the company and support its customers.

Atsuko Ishitani joined Veduccio & Partners, Boston, as an intern from the English in the Working World Program at Embassy CES, New York. Prior to joining Veduccio & Partners, Ishitani worked for the past eight years in advertising, sales promotion and product development at Heinz Japan in Tokyo.

Pam Sullivan, president and founder of Sullivan Creative, Watertown, was named president of the New England Direct Marketing Association (NEDMA). She formerly served as vice president of NEDMA and was responsible for organizing NEDMA’s 2000 conference and awards program.

Staples, Framingham, appointed Tom Nutile as vice president of public relations, reporting directly to Staples chairman and chief executive officer Tom Stemberg. Nutile most recently served as director of corporate communications for Cahners Business Information, where he supervised the PR efforts to highlight the company’s transition from a traditional trade magazine publisher to an Internet-based information provider.


Barradas Yeaton & Wold, Portsmouth, hired Jennifer Ovadek as an account executive and Leslie Amaral as graphic designer. Ovadek will oversee several of the agency’s accounts, including The Green Company, Laconia Savings Bank, Key Partners, and Kennedy & Rossi. She was previously with Hollister Associates and Fidelity Investments’ in-house agency, Boston. Amaral will work on accounts that include the New Hampshire Division of Travel & Tourism Development. She was previously a graphic designer for William Arthur, Kennebunk, a division of Hallmark that produces specialty stationery.

The Tracey Edwards Company, Manchester, hired Scot Villeneuve as director of the tracey/edwards’ interactive group. He will be responsible for developing e-strategies and e-based solutions for medium-to-large companies that need assistance bridging their marketing efforts to the Web. Villeneuve previously worked in the digital media industry as a Web-site designer and digital video editor for MediaOne and Cabletron Systems.

Filias Advertising, Portsmouth, hired Daria Cullen as media director and Juliette Kelly as account executive. Cullen previously managed advertising and media services for Universal Music Group in New York, where she worked on accounts such as Island/Def Jam Group, Universal Pop, and Motown Records. Kelly previously worked as an account executive at Zimmerman and Partners Advertising in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.


RDW Group, Providence, hired Paul Knaub as MIS director.

ListPerfect Direct Marketing & Mailing Services, Providence, hired Marge Turkmani as an account manager with responsibilities for Providence Water, Fidelity, Bryant College, New England Patriots and The New Foxborough Stadium. She was previously with Met Life in Rhode Island. Diane Fusco, who worked as the production manager for WordCom in Connecticut, was hired as an account manager with responsibility for Monster.com, Ziff-Davis, CVS, Amica Mutual Life Insurance, and RDW Group. The company also promoted Patricia Labossiere to account manager.

eBusiness Technologies, a developer and marketer of products, services, and best practices for delivering business-to-business and business-to-consumer applications via the Web, promoted Lisa-Jean Boulet from director of marketing to vice president of worldwide marketing. She will be responsible for expanding the Providence company’s market penetration through the development and growth of marketing communications, product marketing and product management.

Trainor Advertising, Providence, named Michelle Morin vice president/-strategic marketing. Formerly with Chaffee & Partners, Providence, Morin will be responsible for account supervision of Vantage Travel, a Boston-based provider of escorted tours and cruises. She also serves as the agency’s director of new business development.


Jager Di Paola Kemp Design, Burlington, hired Jennifer Belair as traffic manager. Belair previously served as senior sales and service representative at Chittenden Bank in South Burlington.

Marketing communications firm Paul Kaza Associates, South Burlington, promoted Stuart Wood to associate creative director. He has been with the agency for six years, starting as a public relations account executive. The firm also hired Michelle Hobbs, formerly with North Carolina design firm Bolt, as a graphic designer, and added Barbara Masse, previously from Hill, Holliday, Connors, Cosmopulos in Boston, as an account manager.
