McCann-Erickson, based in New York, has promoted Mark Gault to area director, McCann-Erickson Asia Pacific. Formerly managing director of McCann-Erickson Japan, Gault was also named chairman of the agency’s Tokyo and Osaka offices.
Johan Denekamp has been appointed general manager and chief financial officer for international operations of The Media Edge, based in New York. Denekamp, formerly chief operating officer of Tempus Group in London, will work out of The Media Edge’s London office and report to agency president Paul Woolmington. He will also join the media agency’s global board.
Alan Goldin, formerly media services director at New York shop Grace & Rothschild, has moved to DeWitt Media, also New York. He will serve as executive vice president, director of media resources and planning, a newly created position.
Weiss, Whitten, Stagliano, New York, has changed its name to Weiss Stagliano Partners and named nine new minority stakeholders. Co-founders Adam Stagliano and Marty Weiss retain the majority stake.
The new partners are: chief financial officer William Livolsi Jr.; group account directors Neil Cotton and Louise Fischer; group account planning director Gay Holmes; creative supervisors Jeff Compton, Mark Mendelis and Todd Gallentine; production services director Jeff Greenberg; and studio director Paul Budd.
Moore Stickney Associates, Amherst, named Kathleen “Kitty” Kane an account executive. She had been an account executive with Empire Sports Network, a Buffalo-area cable TV sports channel, and the Buffalo Sabres hockey team.
Entertainment brand marketing company Lee Hunt Associates, New York, has named Jane Friesen head of production. She had been executive producer, general manager of Click 3X.
MD Communications, a New York-based healthcare advertising agency, has elevated Ann Bradstreet Brown to senior account executive from account executive.
Renegade Marketing Group, New York, reported three new hires: Mark Besoz, formerly of Ammirati Puris Lintas, as an account director; Greg Faherty, formerly of Momentum IMC, as a senior account executive; and Kerry Hartfield, formerly of Rapp Collins Worldwide, as a senior art director.
Shaw & Todd, New York, has named Dan Selzer art director. He was formerly at Color Wheel.

The New York Mercantile Exchange has elevated Nachamah Jacobovits to vice president, corporate communications. Jacobovits is responsible for advertising, media relations, the exchange Web site and editorial-related services.
Fitness, New York, named Sara Mahoney editor-in-chief. She had been executive editor of sister Gruner + Jahr publication Parents.
Fuji Photo Film USA, New York, has promoted Steve Herstatt to marketing manager, professional film and cameras.
The New York Times, New York, has named Leonard Forman president, chief executive officer, The New York Times Magazine Group. He had been senior vice president, corporate development.
Weider Publications, New York, appointed Tracy Hayes eastern regional manager, Shape, and G. Lonnie Jones eastern regional manager, Men’s Fitness. Maryellen Case was also named vice president, corporate sales development at Weider Publications. She comes from Lamaze Publishing, also New York, where she was publisher, new business development.
Ira Ellenthal was named associate publisher of the U.S. News & World Report magazine group. He had been associate publisher of the New York Daily News.
Hachette Filipacchi Magazines, New York, has named Patricia Keane executive director, research, strategy and planning. She had been marketing director.

Godfrey Advertising in Lancaster has added four staff members to its public relations division: Dario Bernardini as public relations account supervisor; Heidi Irwin as public relations business development director; Laura Duran as an account executive; and Mike Randazzo as a public relations copy director. The shop also elevated Kristine Grow from public relations copywriter to account executive.
