CONNECTICUT Keiler & Co. in Farmington has named Joona Sohn senior designer, Casey Caine associate designer and Michele Hyjek assistant designer. Sohn, who previously headed her own firm and has worked at Winston Ford Design in West Hartford, will handle accounts including Torrington Co. and Speedline. Caine most recently headed her own design studio. Hyjek, who had been a graphic designer for Contents magazine in Savannah, Ga., will work on Web projects for Orion, Prestone and Aeltus. Jeffrey Fine and Lynette McCarthy have been appointed vice presidents of Mintz & Hoke in Avon. Fine serves as director of strategic planning and research; McCarthy works as director of broadcast buying. In addition, Bill Field has been promoted to director of client services. Goodwick Associates in Newtown has tapped Brian Bennett as executive vice president. Bennett has held senior account management posts at Bozell in New York. Richard Medeiros has been named display advertising director at The Hartford Courant. He had been general advertising manager. MASSACHUSETTS Hill, Holliday, Connors, Cosmopulos in Boston has hired Don Miller as an art director and Larry Goldstein as a senior copywriter. Miller had been with Grace & Rothschild in New York, while Goldstein had worked at Ammirati Puris Lintas in New York. Liz McCleary-Sills has joined Dickinson Direct in Braintree as associate account manager. Dick Devlin has been named publisher of Sail magazine in Boston. Devlin, who had served as associate publisher, succeeds Donald Macaulay, who has retired. Sail also has promoted Eric Cressy to advertising director from New England regional manager. Jay Sharkey has joined the magazine as regional manager, overseeing sales efforts in Southern New England and Southern California. Kelly Niehoff, classified ad sales manager, has added responsibilities for Midwest and Canadian accounts. Erik Nelson, who has been an associate editor, moves into ad sales and will take over the Pacific Northwest and Northern New England regions. Bishoff Solomon Communications in Boston has tapped Bill Doncaster and Negin Kamali as account executives. Beth Masterman has joined McDermott/O'Neill & Associates in Boston as an associate specializing in community and government relations. Gregg Riskin has been promoted to director of marketing at Samuel Cabot, a manufacturer of wood-care products in Newburyport. Tim Montgomery has been named president of Jerome Press in Boston, where he will oversee operations for company publications including Playbill, Theatrebill and Panorama. Fuse Integrated Marketing in Newburyport has tapped Kathleen Batcheller as creative director and Kim O'Hare as account coordinator. Fuessler Group, Boston, has named Chantal Keleher account executive. CPS Direct in Woburn has promoted Evan Stone to executive vice president from vice president and creative director. The shop also has advanced Eileen Carew and Mark Bell to senior vice presidents from vice presidents and account directors. MR Marketing, Hanover, has hired Jenna Robitaille as account executive. Patti Marxsen has been named senior account executive at Accent Communications in Peabody. Allen & Gerritsen in Watertown has hired Catherine Raynes as senior art director and Laura Sawyer as traffic assistant. Michael Goldberg has joined Boston-based Brodeur Porter Novelli as creative director of interactive media. Goldberg, who most recently served as design director at WBZ-TV in Boston, will be responsible for Web site design, interactive presentations and CD-ROM projects. Boston-based Cadmus Custom Publishing has appointed Deborah Beckett director of marketing services and Jennifer Whitman account manager. Alison Charello has formed Access Marketing & Communications. Located in Hingham, the startup consulting business seeks to help companies with ethnic and target marketing efforts. Lynn Puffer has been promoted to account coordinator at Momentum Group in East Longmeadow. She had been marketing administrator. Leo Downing has been appointed vice president of business development at Direct Advertising in Holliston. He had been director of sales and marketing at Champagne/Lafayette Communications in Natick. Synthia Blais and Laura Ackerman have been named associates at Peter Arnold Associates in Boston. RHODE ISLAND Seth Burke has been appointed design and art director at Communications Arts Group in Providence. Sara Scott has been named director of creative services at RDW Group in Providence, where she will oversee day-to-day operations of the creative, traffic and production departments. Scott had been a senior account executive.
