NEW YORK Interpublic Group of Cos. in New York named board director Frank Lowe chairman and chief executive of its new sports marketing group, Octagon. Lowe will continue as chairman and chief executive of The Lowe Group. Interpublic executive Les Delano, a founding director of The Lowe Group, will join the newly formed board of Octagon. Jeff Krablin progressed to new business planning manager at D'Arcy Masius Benton & Bowles in New York, a newly created position. Previously, Krablin was an associate account manager on the agency's Procter & Gamble business. Los Angeles-based A Band Apart Commercials installed Stephanie Seligman as executive producer in its recently established New York office. Seligman will also be the firm's head of production. Corey Gottlieb, previously senior vice president and national sales manager at Premier Advertiser Sales, assumed the same role at TDI in New York. Petersen Publishing Co. in New York designated Kathleen Love vice president of research and advertising planning, Patrick Shannon vice president of marketing and Robert Sutton promotion director. Marisa Kim, former media director at Communication & Design Agency in Latham, arrived at Fairbrother and Co. in Valatie as account executive. Hearst Distribution Group's magazine division in New York selected Stephanie Smith and Ken Smith Northern and Southern division sales directors, respectively. Scott Roskowski moved up to director of new business for national spot sales at Univision Communications in New York. CurtCo Freedom Group of New York and Malibu, Calif., named John Dickinson vice president and editorial director of Home Office Computing and Small Business Computing & Communications. Gregory Nathan, formerly with Ryan Drossman & Partners in New York, joined CMG Communications in New York as vice president and account director. Bozell Worldwide in New York elected Warren Kornblum a managing partner. Kornblum will continue to oversee Bozell Retail in New York and manage accounts. David Fishman, former corporate director of business development at Condƒ Nast, became executive vice president of marketing and business development at Unapix Entertainment in New York. Wenner Media in New York assigned Blair Hecht as a Midwest account manager for Us magazine. Previously, Hecht was an account manager at Adweek. Stephanie Sage was designated vice president and beauty group director at DeVries Public Relations in New York. Primedia promoted Judi Christiano to advertising manager/marketing services at Seventeen magazine in New York. Tiffany Young and Pontus Wormuth were recently hired as senior art director and traffic manager, respectively, at Heitner Weiss in New York. The Advertising Council in New York promoted executive vice president and general manager S. Murray Gaylord to chief operating officer. CONNECTICUT Greenfield Consulting Group in Westport added Peter Mackey as managing director. Most recently, Mackey was a senior partner and worldwide management director at J. Walter Thompson in New York. Mary Beth Bardin was appointed senior vice president of public affairs and communications at GTE Corp. in Stamford. Fusion 5 Innovation Marketing in Westport signed Eric Glerum, formerly vice president of marketing at Norelco, as managing director. Joel Treisman, who was with BellSouth in Atlanta, joined CoKnowledge in Westport as vice president. NEW JERSEY Princeton-based Gillespie enlisted Ken Lombardo as vice president and associate creative director of advertising. Most recently, Lombardo was a creative director at Princeton Partners. David Grubb was appointed an account executive at Einson Freeman in Paramus. Previously, Grubb worked at Alcone Marketing in Westport, Conn., as an associate account representative. Harrison Wilson & Associates in Parsippany welcomed Francine Trent as associate medical director of its Promeda division, Leslie Bunger as junior art director and Robin Weitz as database programmer. Shawn Kelly advanced to associate creative director of copy at Gianettino & Meredith in Short Hills. PENNSYLVANIA Devon Direct Marketing & Advertising in Berwyn elevated Stacey Malden to management supervisor and head of its newly established international business unit. The agency also added Mark Mandia as vice president of finance and a member of its management committee.
