Inventiva in San Antonio promoted Mario Aguilar to account services director and hired Lisa Herrera as account executive. Aguilar, formerly account supervisor, has 16 years of experience. Prior to joining Inventiva, Herrera was with Montemayor y Asociados, also in San Antonio, and has worked at Berry-Brown Advertising in Dallas and Hispano Marketing of San Antonio. She has experience working on retail-oriented, packaged-goods and professional services accounts.
Halcyon Associates, Dallas, hired Ann Piper as vice president in its public relations group and Kyle Oliver as account executive. Previously, Piper was media relations manager at Lyrick Studios in Richardson and held posts at Communities Foundation and Spaeth Communications, both Dallas. Oliver, a former account executive at TLPartner-ship in Dallas, will work in Halcyon’s Mercury Technology Group.
Joel Howard joined the staff of Studio B Dallas as print production manager. Howard, who has 12 years’ experience in the print and pre-press industry, was most recently with Wace The Imaging Network in Dallas.
Emma Martinez, former administrative manager at Premisys Real Estate Services in Dallas, was appointed business manager for The Hart Agency, also in Dallas.
Fogarty Klein & Partners, Houston, promoted public relations general manager Judi Martin from a vice presidency to a senior vice president’s position.
The Arbitron Co. in New York hired Anne Baron as account executive in Dallas. Baron will serve clients in Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Oklahoma and East and South Texas. She arrived from Dallas ABC affiliate WFAA-Channel 8, where she was director of marketing and research for the past five years. Baron was also a Dallas-based media planner with J. Walter Thompson and associate broadcast manager at Advanswers Media Programming, St. Louis.
Joy Frederick has joined the staff of Richards/Gravelle in Dallas as account supervisor. Frederick, who previously was vice president of marketing and public relations for Tarleton Aquastar Dallas, will head the Golden Corral restaurant chain account at Richards/Gravelle. She also was employed at TGI Friday’s and S&A Restaurant Corp., parent company of the Steak & Ale chain.
Point Communications public relations director Scott Black has left the Dallas company and opened Time Piece Public Relations, which will be affiliated with Flowers & Fedele, an advertising agency in Dallas. The new entity will offer strategic planning, publicity and media relations training, among other communications services.
Brandy Nowlin was hired by Stuart Bacon, Fort Worth, as account executive. Nowlin previously worked for the agency as an intern in May 1996. She recently was community development specialist for All Saints Health System, also located in Fort Worth.
Debbie Colbert has joined Emery & Martinez Advertising, El Paso, as media buyer and planner. Colbert, with 10 years experience in advertising and media, recently relocated from Las Vegas, where she was media assistant and buyer at Joyce Advertising. Her account responsibilities at Emery & Martinez include Pepsi-Cola, Alamo Auto Supply, Casa Ford and Casa Nissan.
Mona Ingram was recently hired as sales director for the new Adam’s Mark Hotel in Dallas. The 16-year industry veteran previously was director of marketing with the Four Seasons Hotel in her native Singapore.
Eller Media Co., a Phoenix-based outdoor advertising company, advanced Tom Pancamo to vice president of sales and hired John Talamas as finance manager in its Houston location. Pancamo has been employed with Eller since 1977, after owning and operating his own advertising company.
Rick Johnson & Co., Albuquerque, promoted Jennifer Bradley to senior public relations account executive. Bradley was hired by Rick Johnson & Co. in September 1996, after working several months as a freelancer for the agency and other clients. She formerly was senior media relations representative for the Boston Museum of Science.
