PR Shop Scores Hefty First Assignments
BOSTON–The Acadia Group has named Morrissey & Co. lead communications consultant for the launch of a continuing education Web site.
The Boston agency, founded seven months ago by former Clarke & Co. president Peter Morrissey, will have more than $750,000 in billings this year. Other new accounts include Cabot Corp., Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Massachusetts and WorldStreet Corp., all Boston, and Unisphere Solutions in Burlington, Mass.
The Acadia assignment, which Morrissey & Co. picked up after a review of undisclosed agencies, includes assisting in the Jan. 1 launch of Medlecture.com, which will offer online courses for doctors. The site was designed by eMedia of New Canaan, Conn.
It’s the first e-commerce venture for Acadia, an Auburn, Maine-based provider of financial consulting for medical companies. John Holt, formerly of Portland, Maine, ad agency Holt, Hughes & Stamell, is the company’s chief executive officer.
For advertising duties, Holt has hired Crank, a Portland shop formed two years ago by Chris Kast and David Nestor, previously a creative team at Holt, Hughes.
The campaign will consist mainly of ads in medical publications, Morrissey said.
