At least five more agencies have talked to Barnes & Noble about the creative portion of its estimated $35 million ad account.
Sources identified the shops as: DDB Needham, Cliff Freeman and Partners, Kirshenbaum Bond & Partners, Merkley Newman Harty and D’Arcy Masius Benton & Bowles, all in New York. The client had previously contacted Margeotes/Fertitta + Partners and Deutsch, both in New York [Adweek, June 22].
One shop previously contacted–Messner Vetere Berger McNamee Schmetterer/Euro RSCG here–has declined to participate, sources said.
