BOSTON Monster.com has named Ted Gilvar evp, chief global marketing officer. He succeeds Joan Blackwood, who is leaving the Maynard, Mass.-based company.
Gilvar has more than 20 years of experience in advertising and marketing, most recently as an evp and senior director at Omnicom Group’s BBDO in New York, where he managed the Monster business as well as the NFL, Target Stores, Guinness and Red Stripe. His earlier agency posts include Mullen, McKinney and Hill, Holliday, Connors, Cosmopulos.

Sal Ianuzzi, chairman and CEO of Monster, said of Blackwood in an internal memo: “Joan Blackwood will be leaving the organization and will be working to transition her responsibilities to Ted over the next several months. Joan took on the massive task of navigating the brand launch and introducing our new positioning in life improvement during a time of great change at Monster. BBDO took over on the account last September and in January debuted a campaign tagged “Your calling is calling.”
