Concerned the Federal Reserve might raise interest rates, but buoyed by the notion that rising unemployment (up 0.2 percent to 4.8 percent in July) might hold them off, the markets finished the week roughly where they started. The Dow finished the week up only 0.2 percent at 11,240.35, while the Nasdaq dropped 0.1 percent to 2,087.86. Ad stocks finished the week mixed. Omnicom lost 2 percent to close at 87.39, while WPP Group finished the week roughly flat at 58.34. Publicis gained 3 percent to close at 38.44. And IPG closed at 8.44, up nearly 4 percent.
