NEW YORK –Mini enthusiasts can watch how a pile of sheet metal is transformed into a car by visiting the automotive Web site’s new manufacturing section.

A 12-minute, time-lapse film on Mini.com captures the step-by-step manufacturing process at Mini’s production facilities in Oxford, Great Britain.

The section ( http://www.MINI.com/COM/en/themini/manufacturing/index.html ) also gives visitors the chance to win two expense-paid trips to Mini’s actual manufacturing plant. To enter the contest, visitors must answer the question, “The dimensions of the bodyshell of the Mini are accurate to within how many millimeters?”

Topics covered in the new Web site area include the history of the Mini, special manufacturing procedures and the car’s unique features such as its rear lights and contrast roof.
