As might be expected, image makers are ahead of the curve in terms of the technological gizmos they own. A survey from eBrain Market Research pegged DVD ownership among U.S. consumers at 57 percent (though the Consumer Electronics Association estimates the number to be less than 40 percent). Meanwhile, only 24 percent of U.S. consumers have a high-speed Web connection at home. In terms of wireless computing, 28 percent of Americans said they had used a laptop or cell phone for that purpose in the month leading up to a March study by the Pew Internet & American Life Project.
