NEW YORK Meredith Interactive Media has hired Lauren J. Wiener as managing director of sales and marketing, the company said.

Wiener, who starts today, is charged with generating ad revenue and overseeing new-business development for Meredith Corp.’s online properties, including Web sites affiliated with Better Homes and Gardens (bhg.com), Ladies’ Home Journal (lhj.com) and American Baby (AmericanBaby.com). She replaces Bobbie Halfin, who left in June to pursue other interests, a company representative said.

Wiener will report to Doug Olson, vp and general manager of Meredith Interactive Media, and will be based at the publishing company’s New York headquarters.
