Mercury Rising

Marc Gallucci of Arnold Communications in Boston was the lone New England winner at the 7th annual Radio Mercury Awards. The senior vice president and associate creative director picked up a silver prize for a spot promoting Boston-based American Hard Cider Co.’s Cider Jack brand.
Billed as Gallucci Advertising, he teamed with Hub production house Radio in the Nude to craft the 60-second “Home for the Holidays” spot, featuring company owner Ned Flynn recalling dysfunctional family get-togethers. Gallucci has created ads for American Hard Cider for the past four years.
Presented by the Radio Advertising Bureau during a recent ceremony at the Marriott Marquis in New York, the awards carry cash prizes. Gallucci’s silver was worth $5,000, which he plans to split equally with Radio in the Nude and the client.
An ad for UTA Summer Youth Pass created by FJCN/W&R in Salt Lake City earned the $100,000 grand prize. –David Gianatasio
