Euan Jarvie has been promoted to chief operating officer at WPP’s MediaCom U.S., a newly created position at the agency.
Previously, Jarvie was chief client officer. He will continue to report to Doug Checkeris, CEO of MediaCom North America.
Jarvie will now lead client relationship teams across all domestic offices, as well as oversee the digital, insights, communications planning, analytics and business development divisions.
In addition, Jarvie continues to serve as a member of the executive committee, and he will also chair the U.S. management board.
“By unifying these practices under Euan’s leadership, we will continue to improve our ability to deliver world-class, media-neutral business solutions for our clients that are built upon insight-driven strategies,” said Checkeris, in a statement. “We will maintain greater consistency and control over our product from its conception and development, through to its execution and delivery.”
Jarvie joined MediaCom U.S. in May 2009. Before that, he led MediaCom’s operations in Scotland and Ireland. He joined the firm in 1997 to launch the company’s Edinburgh office.
Earlier in his career, Jarvie held media director and media investment positions at several agencies, including WWAV Rapp Collins, O&M Media, TMD Carat Manchester and Zenith Media.
