Havas’ Media Planning Group is merging two of its digital-media units in an effort to boost the global reach of the resulting entity.

No layoffs or office closings will result as ArnoldMPG Interactive is fused with Media Contacts, an MPG representative said. ArnoldMPG will for now operate as a distinct brand within Media Contacts, but will be renamed ArnoldMC.

Maria Luisa Francoli and Don Epperson will remain worldwide CEO and U.S. president, respectively, of Media Contacts. David Song, vp, associate media director of ArnoldMPG Interactive, will keep his title at the renamed ArnoldMC.

The group, with dual headquarters here and in New York, will employ 400 people, working for clients such as Volkswagen and Fidelity Investments.
