Bob Shamyer, director of marketing services at Mintz & Hoke, died last week of an apparent heart attack while vacationing with his family.
Shamyer, 47, joined the Avon, Conn., shop in 1993 from Doubleday Publishing, where he was manager of print and broadcast media. During his tenure at Mintz & Hoke, Shamyer built the media department to its current size of 10 staffers representing such clients as Mohegan Sun Casino and Ames Department Stores.
Mintz & Hoke chief executive officer Chris Knopf called Shamyer “a genuinely good man” and a “brilliant” media strategist.
