WPP’s Mediaedge:cia has reorganized its China operations and appointed Michelle Ko president of MEC China, the shop has confirmed. In this new role, Ko will lead a team of 200 media specialists across three MEC offices.

In effect, Ko (pictured) replaces Bertill Teo, who was North Asia CEO before leaving in July.

Ko will be responsible for the overall business growth and product development of MEC China.  She will be based in Shanghai and report to Bessie Lee, CEO, GroupM China, and Joost Dop, CEO, MEC Asia-Pacific.

Ko joins MEC from the GroupM Regional Aspire team responsible for the training and development of the network’s agencies in Greater China.
