McKinney Hires ‘Talented Team’

Mark Teringo and Barbara Eibel have joined McKinney & Silver’s creative department.

“We’re going to see great things from Mark and Barbara,” said David Baldwin, executive creative director at the Raleigh, N.C., shop. “Their work is exceptional.”

Teringo, a copywriter, and art director Eibel have teamed up since their graduate school days at Syracuse University in upstate New York. The two were married in October 1998.

The dual hire caps a months-long search for what Baldwin calls “mid-level people with gravitas.”

“I’d been keeping an eye out for a talented team,” Baldwin said. “I saw a lot of stuff, but their book blew me away.”

The pair has been assigned the agency’s Audi and Krystal Restaurants accounts.

Eibel most recently served as art director at DeVito/Verdi in New York, where she worked on the American Civil Liberties Union and For Eyes accounts. Her résumé also includes a stint at Lowe & Partners/SMS in New York.

Teringo’s résumé mirrors that of his spouse, including work for Mercedes-Benz, Sony, Valvoline and Diet Coke.

Two factors figured in the hire. “They wanted a chance to do great work and improve the quality of their lives,” Baldwin said.
