Martin Wins Optical Retailer

ATLANTA For Eyes Optical has hired The Martin Agency to provide its advertising and media buying after a review, the company said.

The incumbent, Tractenburg Advertising of New York, was not one of the three finalists in the review, said Jan Wurzburger, director of media and marketing for the Torrance, Calif., company. Tractenburg held the account for the past two years, Wurzburger said.

Billings on the account were not disclosed, but the company spent $5.7 million on advertising last year and $5.9 million through August of this year, according to TNS Media Intelligence.

Martin, an Interpublic Group shop in Richmond, Va., will produce television and print advertising for the company. The first work is scheduled to break during the first quarter of next year, Wurzburger said.

“For Eyes isn’t the largest player in the category, but they are a leader in bringing high-quality, fashionable and affordable vision care to their customers,” said John Adams, chairman and CEO of The Martin Agency. “That’s the kind of corporate mission we can get excited about.”

For Eyes Optical operates more than 120 stores nationwide.
