Martin Warms to the Task of NORA

ATLANTA The Martin Agency has secured the $10 million account of the National Oilheat Research Alliance, the client confirmed.

The Richmond, Va., unit of the Interpublic Group of Cos. won the NORA business following a review against two undisclosed agencies in the Northeast. Incumbent Fallon in Minneapolis, which won the business in August 2001, did not participate.

“They liked the style of our creative work, the range of it,” said agency chairman and CEO John Adams. “They saw we could do things involving both humor and a warm emotional approach. They were interested in a range.”

John Huger, president of the 2-year-old Reston, Va.-based trade group, cited Martin’s creative work, adding, “Different groups from my organization were impressed with their style and knowledge. The people [at Martin] seemed to know their business but also knew how to listen to us as a client.”

A print, outdoor, television and radio campaign will launch in April.
