High-end writing instrument maker A.T. Cross has selected six shops, including The Martin Agency, as semifinalists in its review.
In addition to the Richmond, Va., agency, sources said contenders are Avrett, Free & Ginsberg; Bates USA; D’Arcy Masius Benton & Bowles; and Margeotes/Fertitta + Partners, all in New York; and Carmichael Lynch in Minneapolis.
A Cross representative refused to say which shops advanced last week.
The Lincoln, R.I., company’s ad spending fell from $7 million to about $3 million last year, but Cross has said the budget will increase.
