Martin Advertises Comeback of Global Crossing

ATLANTA Global Crossing has emerged from Chapter 11 with a print campaign breaking today from The Martin Agency.

Ads in dailies including The Wall Street Journal seek to raise awareness that the telecom has completed its financial restructuring. Earlier this week, Singapore Technologies Telemedia invested $250 million in the Florham Park, N.J., company for a 61.5 percent equity share. The advertiser emerged from bankruptcy Dec. 9.

The campaign, created by the Richmond, Va., Interpublic Group shop, uses “One planet. One network” as a tagline. A full-page execution shows a rectangular block of text over an image of city skyscrapers. An ether-like ribbon unites the two. The ad is centered and flanked by white space. Copy explains the story of the financial restructuring.

Global Crossing has not advertised since 2002. Martin won creative chores and media planning in 2001 following a review. Annual billings are undisclosed.
