Marriott Picks Burrell for Minority Marketing

CHICAGO Hotelier Marriott International has tapped Burrell Communications to handle the company’s minority public relations initiatives without a review.

“We are excited about this opportunity to partner with Marriott,” said Tom Burrell, chairman and CEO of the Chicago-based agency, in a statement. “Advertising and marketing campaigns are no longer limited to traditional media.”

The assignment includes consulting, marketing and planning for the Atlanta-based company’s diversity initiatives.

Marriott, through its lead advertising agency, Mcgarrybowen in New York, broke a campaign this week with the tagline, “It’s the Marriott way.”
