MARC Purchases Promo Outfit

In an effort to broaden its base of offerings, MARC USA purchased promotional pro-ducts manufacturer CSA Promotions.

Tony Bucci, MARC’s chairman and CEO, said promotional products was an “exploding market segment,” that will help the shop gain new business.

“We’ve found we can service our clients better when we can present the whole package,” Bucci said. The shop’s promotional clients include GE Lighting, Mellon Financial, PPG Industries and Checkers/Rally Drive-In Restaurants, he said. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

CSA will be merged into MARC Promotions, also in Indianapolis. Bob Simonson, president and CEO of MARC Promotion, will lead the merged operation, which will have $13 million in annual billings. CSA’s former president, Larry Konfirst, will become executive vice president of sales and marketing for the company.

Separately, the agency’s Pittsburgh office won the $4 million account for Le Nature’s Beverages after a review of undisclosed contenders. There was no incumbent agency.

The shop’s first assignment will be a consumer advertising and promotional campaign for the Latrobe, Pa., company’s bottled water, teas and juice. The work is expected to launch in August in markets that include New York, Philadelphia, Boston and Atlanta.
