Makos’ ‘Noise’ Makes an Impression

DALLAS A spot by Makos Advertising, Marketing & Design was named the Best National TV Commercial in the business-to-consumer category at the 2005 Automotive Communications Awards, the agency said.

The commercial, titled “Noise,” was produced for the Nascar Performance Network (NPN) and alerts consumers about the hazards of unperformed maintenance, according to Makos, an Austin, Texas-based independent shop.

“The overall campaign message is that unperformed maintenance is the problem and that Nascar shops are the solution,” said Mark Turner, founder and president of Makos. “This award recognizes the fun yet educational creative advertising we delivered for Nascar, and also validates for us and Nascar that the message we’re sending is effective.”

This spot is one of four Makos produced this year as part of a national campaign for the NPN.

Sponsored by the Car Care Council Women’s Board and the Automotive Communications Council, the annual awards were presented during the Women’s Board reception at the Automotive Aftermarket Industry Week in Las Vegas.
