Lubars Hires Goodrich for BBDO

NEW YORK In his first major hire since being named chairman, chief creative officer of BBDO North America in June, David Lubars has tapped Kara Goodrich as a creative director for Omnicom Group’s BBDO, the agency said.

Goodrich, 40, joined earlier this month from Havas’ Euro RSCG in New York, where she was a creative director on Volvo and Evian.

In a statement, Lubars said, “We want BBDO to be an oasis where all the best creative people in New York want to come. Kara is one of the best.”

It has not yet been determined exactly which accounts Goodrich will work on, the agency said, but she will concentrate on print advertising. The New York shop’s clients include, AOL, Pepsi, Visa, Cingular, Guinness, Frito-Lay, FedEx and Masterfoods.

Goodrich reports to Lubars, who will join the agency from Publicis Groupe’s Fallon in Minneapolis, after Labor Day.

This is the third time the two will be working together. Lubars hired Goodrich in 1992 as a copywriter at Leonard, Monahan, Lubars and Kelly in Providence, R.I., where she worked on Polaroid, Keds and Bauer. She joined him six years later at Fallon on United Airlines, Starbucks and EDS.

Goodrich joined Euro RSCG in New York in early 2004 from Havas’ Arnold Worldwide in Boston. She has also worked at Interpublic Group’s Mullen in Wenham, Mass.
