Lowe Loses A&P, Lead Macy’s Role

Lowe has seen its lead broadcast duties on Macy’s shift to project work and lost its Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Co. account. Coupled with the previous losses this year of Century 21 and Unilever’s Wisk, the shop has lost an estimated $7-8 million in revenue and will likely have to cut staff, sources said. Macy’s parent, Federated Department Stores, this summer decided to take Lowe off retainer. Revenue is estimated at $4 million. A&P hired Lowe in the spring to handle creative and media for five brands, and revenue was expected to be $1-2 million. But A&P took its business in-house before Lowe was able to produce any work.

Campbell-Ewald Retains U.S. Navy

CHICAGO The U.S. Navy last week said it has retained incumbent Campbell-Ewald for its $90 million ad account. The IPG agency, based in Warren, Mich., has handled the account since 2000. Sources said IPG’s The Martin Agency in Richmond, Va., also competed.

DDB’s Brossard Takes Global Post

NEW YORK Omnicom’s DDB Worldwide said it has promoted Hervé Brossard to the new post of chief client officer. He had been CEO and chairman of DDB’s operations in France. Brossard, 56, will work closely with the shop’s 12-plus global business directors to expand client service offerings, DDB said. He’s also charged with addressing the business concerns of senior client executives and prospective clients.
