NEW YORK L.L. Bean has awarded creative and media duties on its estimated $20 million ad account to the WPP Group team of JWT and MEC Interaction, respectively, after a review, sources said.

The other finalists were Omnicom Group’s DDB in New York and Interpublic Group’s Hill, Holliday, Connors, Cosmopulos in Boston.

Final pitches took place at L.L. Bean’s headquarters earlier this week.

JWT in New York did not return calls, but sources said the Freeport, Maine-based client told the agencies of its decision on Thursday.
