Little Rock Shop Adds Latino Services

DALLAS The Communications Group is now offering Spanish-language services to meet the needs of clients wishing to target Hispanics, the shop said.

According to Dan Cowling, president of the Little Rock, Ark.-based shop, many of the agency’s public health clients were requesting Hispanic-marketing programs. Among them are the Arkansas Department of Human Services and the Arkansas State Department of Health.

“One of the issues we’ve gotten into in the last 10-15 years is outreach with an emphasis on health,” Cowling said. “Since we’ve had such a huge growth in the Hispanic [population in the state], the public and private health [sectors] have started working to move initiatives more aggressively into the Hispanic community.”

Today there are 87,000 Hispanics in Arkansas, or 3 percent of the population, compared with 12.5 percent of the country, according to the 2000 U.S. Census.

Cowling has hired Lela Delgado as an account planner to work on the shop’s Hispanic business. Delgado, who joins from data management firm Axiom Company, has previous agency experience.
