Lee Jeans Sends European Account to McCann

NEW YORK Interpublic Group’s McCann-Erickson has been tapped to handle creative duties for the Lee Jeans account in Europe, Asia and Africa, the agency confirmed. The business will be run from Storakers McCann in Stockholm, but that shop will work with other McCann agencies in the other regions.

The client parent company VF Northern Europe (based in Brussels) awarded the business after a review of undisclosed agencies.

Billings on the account were undisclosed. VF Corp., based in Greensboro, N.C., spent $15 million in media in the U.S. from January to November of 2002, per CMR.

The review began in December. It could not immediately be determined if the incumbent, Publicis Groupe’s Fallon London, defended.

Lee Jeans’ U.S. agency is Fallon in Minneapolis. That portion of the account is unaffected WPP’s Mediaedge:cia continues to handle media duties in both regions. Media was not part of the review.
