Leary & Tiziani Begins Consulting

BOSTOn—Following the lead of several other regional shops, Leary & Tiziani has launched a strategic marketing practice.

The agency in Sharon, Mass., has focused on providing traditional ad-vertising, design, public relations and interactive services to business-to-business clients. Under president Richard Whitmyre, the shop is now offering market positioning and brand consulting as well.

The process starts with a one-day seminar to identify a company’s competitive strengths and determine the channels and messages needed to market those strengths.

“Once we establish [a client’s] positioning needs, we can do public relations, advertising, interactive or any other work we think is necessary,” said Whitmyre. The group launches with four clients: Spectro Analytical, Hagen & Co., Invensys Production Management and Baan Process Solutions.

Whitmyre is also pursuing new ac-counts for the stra-tegic marketing division and pitching the group’s services to existing agency clients.

L&T is following the lead of the region’s largest shops, which have bolstered their consulting practices in recent months. Earlier this year, Boston’s Arnold launched Arnold Capital Insight within its public relations division, while crosstown agency Hill, Holliday, Connors, Cosmopulos hired Michael Spellacy to head its consulting arm.
