Kolar Quits Fuddruckers Account

DALLAS Kolar Advertising has resigned creative duties on the Fuddruckers casual dining chain account, the agency said. The client spends about $2-3 million annually on ads, per Nielsen Monitor-Plus.

A Fuddruckers representative could not be immediately reached for comment, and it could not be determined if the business would be re-assigned or go into review.

Both the agency and client are based in Austin, Texas. Kolar, an independent full-service shop, had held the account for a year and a half, providing print and in-store promotional materials.

The split resulted from a difference of opinion on how to market the brand, said Kolar svp, general manager Bryan Christian. “Our vision for the brand differed from management’s and we parted ways,” Christian said. “We wish them well.” He declined to elaborate.

Founded in 1980 as a chain specializing in high-quality hamburgers made with fresh ingredients, Fuddruckers now has 232 restaurants in 36 states and Canada.
