Killen Returns to Mitsubishi Marketing

LOS ANGELES Wayne Killen has rejoined Mitsubishi Motors North America as vice president of marketing, the company confirmed.

Killen, 45, was a product manager at Mitsubishi from 1987-89, according to the company. He worked for Montvale, N.J.-based Mercedes-Benz for the last decade, most recently as product manager of the Maybach line.

Killen will report to Dave Schembri, evp of sales and marketing at the Cypress, Calif., company. Killen was immediately unavailable for comment.

“I had the privilege of working with Wayne during our careers with Mercedes and I’m excited to work with him again,” said Schembri in a statement. “His innovative approach to marketing delivered excellent results for Maybach awareness and sales and is a perfect fit with MMNA’s strategy of rebuilding our brand one model at a time.”

Because of a change in the department structure, Killen does not replace one of the positions vacated in the last year, according to the automaker. In the new role, Killen will oversee directors of advertising, brand experience marketing, product public relations and product strategy.
