Ketchum Gets New Leaders in Chicago

CHICAGO Omnicom Group’s public relations and marketing communications firm Ketchum is enacting a series of leadership changes today in its Chicago office.

The changes also reflect completion of the final phase of the acquisition of Corporate Technology Communications in Chicago, company executives said in a statement. Ketchum acquired CTC in June 2001, nearly doubling its revenue and making it the fifth-largest public relations firm in Chicago with 130 employees.

Among the leadership changes, J. Adaire Putnam, CTC’s former managing director, has been named director of the Chicago office. Paul Rand, a Ketchum partner, founder and former chief executive officer of CTC, becomes managing director and will continue as director of Ketchum’s global technology practice. Michael Hatcliffe, a Ketchum partner and former office director in Chicago, has been named a senior counselor, providing strategic counsel to Ketchum’s largest corporate clients. Peter Fleischer, a Ketchum partner and former managing director in Chicago, has been named a senior counselor, continuing as a strategic advisor to key Chicago clients, such as Wendy’s International, Lions Club and Million Dollar Round Table.

“Key members of the former CTC staff have taken on leadership roles at Ketchum beyond the technology practice, while Ketchum leadership has remained and moved into highly focused positions to provide their invaluable talents in areas where they are needed most,” said Lorraine Thelian, Ketchum’s senior partner, North America, in a statement.
