Kaplan Thaler Taps Brodsky for Revlon

NEW YORK Nancy Brodsky, a onetime executive of Revlon’s former in-house agency, Tarlow Advertising, has joined The Kaplan Thaler Group as group account director on that business, effective immediately, the shop said.

The Publicis-owned New York shop won the $125 million Revlon assignment in March after a review and is expected to unveil its first work for the client later this month. The account consists of the Revlon, Almay and Ultima brands.

Brodsky was most recently at Interpublic Group’s Gotham in New York, where she was managing partner, group account director on its Maybelline business. While there, she helped relaunch the Maybelline brand in the U.S. as Maybelline New York and worked on global new product introductions for Dream Matte Mousse Foundation, Instant Age Rewind Foundation, Moisture Extreme Lipcolor and XXL Mascara.

Brodsky reports to agency president Robin Koval, who said in a statement, “We are thrilled to have Nancy’s energy and experience in managing the Revlon brand. Nancy’s in-depth knowledge and history with Revlon combined with her knowledge about the category and the customer are invaluable.”

Before joining Gotham in April 2003, Brodsky, 47, spent 13 years at Tarlow Advertising, which ceased to be Revlon’s in-house shop in 2000, when the account moved to Interpublic Group’s Deutsch in New York. Tarlow has since morphed into Roberts & Tarlow.

Brodsky replaces Tom Shaffer, who has been tapped to run the shop’s recently won $85 million Office Depot account.

Kaplan Thaler’s other clients include, Continental Airlines, Foxwoods Resort, Procter & Gamble, Aflac and Pfizer.
