NEW YORK Kanoodle named Lance Podell its new CEO, replacing company founder Kent Keating, who will remain as chairman, the firm said.

Podell has been Kanoodle’s president since December 2003, when he joined the paid listings company after running Primedia-owned About’s Sprinks division. He left Sprinks after Google bought it and shut down the Sprinks text ad service for Web publishers, which competed with Google’s AdSense network.

Podell oversaw Kanoodle’s entry into content-targeted paid listings. Kanoodle’s content listings are now displayed on sites like MarketWatch.com,
