Walter Thompson has emerged as the No. 1 agency in the Hong Kong 4A’s rankings, ending the tug-of-war for the top spot between Ogilvy & Mather and Leo Burnett that had lasted for more than a decade. With a 62% billings increase, JWT moved from the No. 5 spot to the No. 3 spot in 1987 and had always been poised to strike at the top two.
