JWT Recruits Global Planning Exec

NEW YORK WPP Group’s JWT has recruited Orlando Hooper-Greenhill, head of international planning at Bartle Bogle Hegarty, to become the No. 2 planner at JWT.

Hooper-Greenhill, who starts Jan. 21, takes the title of director of global planning and reports to global planning chief Guy Murphy.

Hooper-Greenhill will be based in London and lead the development of planning on global and international brands, according to JWT.

“The hiring of Orlando is part of the agency’s continuing commitment to the importance of planning,” said JWT worldwide CEO Bob Jeffrey, in a statement. “In our increasingly connected world, it is vital that brands are properly planned across regions. Orlando will help us lead industry thinking in this area.”

JWT global and international clients include Ford, Unilever, HSBC, Nokia, Diamond Trading Co. and Rolex.

Hooper-Greenhill, 35, had spent three years at BBH in London, working on brands such as Diageo’s Johnnie Walker and Unilever’s Surf/All. Before BBH, he was a planning partner at Omnicom Group’s TBWA\London, where his brand experience included John Smith’s, Abbey and Eurostar. Earlier in his career, Hooper-Greenhill was a senior account planner at Leagas Delaney.
