NEW YORK Jeff Bitsack and Con Williamson, two of JWT’s eight executive creative directors here, are heading to Euro RSCG to help lead its New York creative department, Euro RSCG confirmed today.
Bitsack and Williamson will become part of a creative leadership team at the Havas-owned shop along with a handful of other top execs.
The agency is expected to disclose the lineup and their titles shortly — possibly as soon as next week.
Collectively, the group will steer the 110-person creative department.
Bitsack and Williamson will report to Jose Cabaco, Euro RSCG’s North American chief creative officer, an agency representative said. Cabaco joined in April from independent Wieden + Kennedy in Portland, Ore., where he was a cd.
Bitsack and Williamson will leave JWT next week, but won’t start their new jobs at Euro RSCG until August, according to the rep.
Bitsack has worked at WPP Group’s JWT since the fall of 2005, handling brands such as JetBlue, Stride gum and Domino’s. Before JWT, he freelanced at agencies such as Bartle Bogle Hegarty and Wieden.
Williamson rejoined JWT in December, after helping the shop win lead creative duties on Royal Caribbean’s global marketing services account.
Beyond Royal Caribbean, he worked on JetBlue and the U.S piece of JWT’s global Nokia business.
In an earlier stint at JWT from 2001-04, Williamson served as a cd on Smirnoff, Domino’s, Merrill Lynch and Ford. He left the agency to help launch a “creative collective” called Lodge 212 in New York.
The exits of Bitsack and Williamson come 17 months after another ecd, Peter Nicholson, accepted an offer to become chief creative officer at Interpublic Group’s Deutsch in New York.
JWT now has six executive creative directors under chief creative officer Ty Montague, though he is expected to fill the Bitsack and Williamson slots shortly. JWT declined to comment.
