Julie Martin Joins Ingalls Unit

DRG Exec to Lead Business Development
BOSTON–Julie Martin has joined Ingalls One to One Marketing as vice president and director of business development, a new position at the direct response and interactive unit of Ingalls in Boston.
Martin most recently served as vice president and account services director at Direct Results Group in Boston. In the mid-1990s, she worked at former Hub shop Berenson, Isham & Partners with Jim Rosenberg, who now serves as senior vice president and managing director of One to One.
“She was a tremendous asset” in her two years at DRG, said agency president Jim Hackett. Her duties will be divided among current staff, he said.
Unlike the overall Ingalls agency, One to One has performed well of late. Martin has been brought aboard to maintain the momentum, Rosenberg said.
Ingalls endured an off year in 1998; billings were flat while revenues dropped slightly. The 35-person One to One unit, however, recorded a 10 percent rise in revenues from 1997 and has grown its client list about 15 percent in the last six months, according to Rosenberg.
He declined to discuss specific goals but said he believes Martin will help One to One improve on those numbers in 1999. She also may assist Ingalls chairman Bink Garrison and president Steve Connelly with new business development across other departments, Martin said.
Her move to One to One was prompted by a desire to focus on new business, unfettered by account management responsibilities, and is not linked to the recent sale of DRG to Jordan Industries, Deerfield, Mich., she said [Adweek, Feb. 8].
