Jordan Wins Cookies

Jordan Associates has sweetened its client roster with the addition CBD/CB Advertising Association, the ad management group behind the Cookies by Design and Cookie Bouquet franchises.
Dallas-based Jordan won creative and strategic planning duties after a formal review, which included two other unnamed finalists. The incumbent was Austin, Texas-based Sherry Matthews Advertising and Public Relations.
Media placement will be handled on a local market basis by the retail client’s franchise operators.
Annual billings on the account were not disclosed.
Both Cookies by Design and Cookie Bouquet create customized edibles in floral-like arrangements. The first Cookie Bouquet opened in Dallas in 1983; the chain now operates 206 retail locations in 36 states.
“We were looking for a new agency to bring freshness and solid strategic thinking to our advertising programs,” said Phyllis Pittman, president of the CBD/CB Advertising Association, in a statement. “Our shops are located nationwide, and we needed approaches that are effective in local market executions.”
Cookies by Design and Cookie Bouquet said it has contracted to become the first bakery operation ever to license Disney characters. Cookies in the shape of Mickey and Minnie Mouse and their friends will debut in stores in the first quarter of 2000.
Jordan Associates will support the client’s new product introductions with a multimedia promotional campaign and national consumer advertising.
