Jiffy Lube, the nation’s largest chain of automobile oil change and lubrication centers, has selected McCarthy Mambro Bertino to handle its advertising.

Jiffy Lube, Houston, began a review in April and chose the Boston shop over FCB, New York, in the final round. The incumbent agency, The Richards Group, Dallas, did not participate.

It is the agency’s first big account win since its principals bought out the Boston office of Square One, Dallas, earlier this year.

Ad spending wasn’t disclosed, but Jiffy Lube, a division of Pennzoil-Quaker State, spent $18 million on advertising in measured media last year, according to Competitive Media Reporting estimates.
