Phil Jacobs, former managing partner of new business at DDB Dallas, has quit the agency to go to the client side.
Jacobs last week became vice president of marketing at Data Return, a provider of Web-hosting services in Irving, Texas. The company is partly owned by Microsoft, Compaq Computer and Level 3.
Data Return recently assigned its advertising account to the joint partnership of DDB Dallas and SicolaMartin, an Austin, Texas, agency catering to high-tech clients.
“It’s such a great opportunity to work for an up-and-coming technology company,” said Jacobs, who had led new business initiatives at DDB for five years.
