IQ News: IQ.commerce Passes First Test

IQ.commerce Corporation, the Saratoga, Calif.-based direct marketing company, today will launch its Web site at With today’s site launch, IQ.commerce will roll out its first product, IQDirect, a patent-pending suite of integrated online merchandising solutions. The product is targeted to merchants and portals hoping to angle in on the burgeoning e-commerce trend, and Web publishers that want to develop and track their online promotional campaigns.
Pre-launch customers of the IQDirect service include Netscape’s Netcenter, which enlisted IQ.commerce in the holiday promotion, “Get What You Want,” and Free Sample Club, which will feature a re-launch of its own site this April built on a foundation of the IQDirect system.
The founders and creators of IQ.commerce, CEO Carl Meyer and chief technology officer Tony Hoeber, hope to rise above the already over-crowded clutter of online advertising by incorporating elements of offline promotional campaigns with the reach and immediacy of online.
IQ.commerce offers “private label services” which provide personalized campaigns for customers, where they log onto IQ.commerce’s secure server to create, launch, change and track their individual promotional campaigns.
Despite the company’s interest in using traditional incentives, IQ.commerce does not rule out using online ad staples like banner ads and pop-ups. “We don’t want to take a position on how commerce should be done, we want to support all the models,” said Hoeber.–Kipp Cheng
