IPG Sets Date for Investors’ Conference

NEW YORK Interpublic Group on March 27 will host a daylong conference to discuss the company’s strategic direction, operations and financial performance, the holding company said on Monday.

The conference, which IPG CEO Michael Roth first flagged in November, will be geared toward investors.

Although IPG has participated in similar conferences, such as those run by UBS and CSFB, the company has not hosted one in recent years. The focus will be on agency brands and their respective positioning, as well as how IPG intends to measure their future performance.

The event comes as the No. 3 holding company seeks to emerge from four years of accounting problems and senior management turnover. IPG also finds itself in a hole revenue-wise, after some significant losses in 2005, including marketing services duties on Bank of America and media chores on General Motors.

Roth, CFO Frank Mergenthaler and a handful of agency CEOs are expected to speak at the conference, which will take place in Manhattan. An IPG representative declined to say which agency chiefs would speak.
