IPG Sets Date for 1Q Results

NEW YORK Interpublic Group will report its financial results for the first three months of 2006 on May 10, according to the No. 3 advertising holding company.

That same day IPG will host a conference call with industry analysts to discuss the results. The call will begin at 8:30 a.m. Typically, such calls last about an hour.

The first-quarter numbers will come two weeks before IPG’s annual stockholders meeting, which takes place May 25 in New York. At the meeting, shareholders will consider the re-election of all eight of IPG’s board members, as well as a proposal calling for a split between the CEO and chairman roles and another urging the board to recoup bonuses from top executives if IPG restates downward its results.

If adopted, the CEO-chairmanship measure would not likely affect current chief executive and chairman Michael Roth since he is contractually bound to perform both functions. IPG opposes both that resolution and the one regarding bonuses. Individuals owning stock in the company put forth each proposal.
