NEW YORK — Top executives from all three of the industry’s top holding companies signed off on their 2002 filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission, as required by new SEC certification requirements that make those top officials personally responsible for the veracity of their financial statements.

Omnicom, Interpublic Group of Companies and WPP Group plc met today’s deadline, in compliance with the SEC directive issued in July. WPP was not required to do so since the London-headquartered company isn’t included in the list of the 947 of the largest US corporations who must comply with the SEC order.
