At least three contenders remain in the running for Interstate Energy Corp.’s $2-3 million account, sources said last week.
The agencies vying for the business–a Madison, Wis.-based consolidation of three energy companies– are Colle & McVoy, Minneapolis; Lindsay, Stone & Briggs, Madison; and Meyocks & Priebe, Des Moines, sources said.
D’Arcy Masius Benton & Bowles in St. Louis was invited to participate in the review but declined, the agency confirmed.
Linda Brei, director of corporate communications for Wisconsin Power & Light in Madison, one of the utilities moving under the IEC umbrella, declined to comment on the review.
Interstate Energy is the result of a merger announced in September 1996 of WPL Holding, parent of Wisconsin Power & Light; Interstate Power Co.
