Hypnotic, Nibblebox Merge

Entertainment dot-coms Hypnotic and Nibblebox said Wednesday that they have merged and raised an undisclosed sum of money in a funding round led by Vivendi Universal and Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein.

The merged company will be known as Hypnotic and will be helmed by CEO David Bartis, the former head of NBC Studios who co-founded Nibblebox with director Doug Liman, who will be vice chairman of Hypnotic. Jeremy Bernard, CEO of Hypnotic before the merger, is now president and chief operating officer.

Also investing in the most recent round were Knowledge Universe, Entertainment Media Ventures and former Warner Bros. co-chief Terry Semel’s Windsor Media.
